Dr. Martin Antony Walker

Martin Antony Walker BSc, DIC, PhD, provides independent studies and analyses in high-performance and distributed computing, and related areas.

From 1984 until his retirement in 2008, Martin performed a number of roles in the high-performance computing business. He is widely recognized for numerous achievements in business development and management, marketing, product development and market introduction, R&D program management, and startup financing for Hewlett Packard, Compaq Computer, Digital Equipment, Cray Research, and Myrias Research. He has been active in the distributed computing community since 2002.

Dr. Walker received a DIC and PhD in mathematics and physics from the University of London in 1970, and has lectured and published widely in the scientific literature on relativistic gravitational collapse, black holes, gravitational radiation, and related topics. He was a member of scientific staff at the Max Planck Institute for Physics and Astrophysics, Munich, Germany, from 1971 to 1984. During his research career, Dr. Walker held visiting positions at leading universities and research institutions around the world.
